 Re- Training the Emotional Brain for Breakthrough Change 
    The Reboot to Joy process actually helps to rewire the emotional brain to better balance and uplifted emotions. Most of us are run by our ingrained “survival circuits”, The "wires " and connections thee brain creates to help us in coping when we're super- stressed or thrown into trauma. These responses offer the reward of belief and often become hard- wired, our first line of defense again stressors. They are extremely resistant to change and often create bigger problems. In stress eating, for example, the brain has become “convinced”, in a sense, that its survival depends on the eating (or it can be any external thing or solution). Thus, overeating, addictions, or other unbalanced conditions begin to feel normal, even vital to life.

      Brain re- training helps change the drives that trigger stress and stress eating, reducing symptoms while gradually eliminating circuits that trigger the insistent drive. In the Reboot to Joy process, we're given support, the practice and tools to address our own personal eating hot- buttons. From there we can target, speak to and undo the problematic brain pathways. Instead of trying to force a change from the outside, such as through diets or will, the new re-wiring takes charge, creating new, more relaxed responses.
        Transformed, tapped into joy, our new experience of relaxation and ease naturally pulls us to our own highest good.  External solutions like unhealthy food choices to soothe us are no longer needed or wanted. Unlike other methods, the effects of the particular science applied are markedly long- lasting.

How It Works--

& Application
   The process uses simple tools, that guide the user through questions matching their emotional state at the time. These queries follow the natural progression of emotions within the brain, relieving stress and bringing the brain into balance. In this healthier state, effectiveness, functionality and productivity is enhanced on every level.
.   The brain re- wire methods help reduce momentary stresses and weaken the cause of the distress (the stress circuitry). Thus that ingrained brain path is used less frequently, is less active and less easily or strongly triggered. Gradually the more resilient wiring begins to take over.

     This coaching increases the ability to relax using brain- body cues and subliminal messages and reduces the power of the circuitry that triggers dysfunctional drives. The neuronal pathways that began and perpetuate unhealthy life choices such as over-drugging, overeating, addiction, etc., is reduced over time. It's a more thorough, long- lasting method than simple external or forced change, such as in discipline, dieting, accountability or willpower. Rather, it undoes the actual brain wiring that creates negative states. The new re-wiring can create new inner rewards and the more comfortable experience of freedom from excesses. A new pattern is created that calls us to healthier, happier living and states of well-being.
 Raising the Joy- Happiness Set Point 
     The higher goal that assures our success is the raising of the entire state of the brain, to open to and come to live in a state of more joy. The set- point of happiness is the normal, usual mood- set we live in most often. We're used to that level of happiness or distress and our instinct for survival (our primitive brain) wants it maintained.  Thus, it's our personal set point and the state we return to again and again. By using body- mind and neuroscience and re- wiring this over time, the brain can do a reset, gradually moving to healthier, more functional and constructive levels. The new circuitry overtakes the old pathways, rooting us to this new, wiser set point. We move more quickly and naturally through distress to resilience, to relief and to joy. From that improved, higher level, we turn from the unhealthy naturally, powerfully pulled to a new state of overall health and well-being. 

Our Support-- How & Why
     Without retraining the emotional brain circuits driving our behavior, its highly resistant to change. Under distress blood rushes from the brain to the body limbs and other organs that are now in the “fight or flight” mode. Thinking is fuzzy, faulty or non -existent.  At that time we need support in a simple- to- follow method to guide us back to our calmness. We may also need the presence or voice of another human or group that can help stabilize us enough to engage the specified process that will helps us to detach and re- learn new, effective "rewired" responses. Personal coaching, therapy and/or peer support keeps us going. A teacher or guide helps in using the tools, releasing us from the habit of responding with stress and transforming that response into one that brings us back to our joy.
